MICHAEL WATERSTONE
Assistant Professor of Law

J.D., Harvard Law School, magna cum laude, 1999; B.A., University of California Los Angeles, summa cum laude, 1995.

Professor Waterstone joined the faculty in the fall of 2003. After graduating law school, he clerked for the Honorable Richard S. Arnold on the Eighth Circuit Court of Appeals. He then practiced in Los Angeles for two and a half years with the law firm of Munger, Tolles, & Olson. His wife Julie teaches in the Law School 's Child Advocacy Clinic. They enjoy tennis, running, and are slowly acclimating to SEC football.

Professor Waterstone specializes in civil rights and disability law, and is a frequent commentator and speaker on these topics. He is a Commissioner for the American Bar Association's Commission on Mental & Physical Disability Law. Professor Waterstone teaches Property, Civil Procedure, Civil Rights, and Disability Law.
