LAW WEEKEND:  FEBRUARY 26-27, 2010

Law Weekend is an annual event sponsored by the Law Alumni Chapter.  Held every spring, law weekend allows law alumni and friends to gather in Oxford for a time of celebration and fellowship.  Hotel rooms are blocked off for attendees at The Inn at Ole Miss.  Law Weekend is filled with fun programming built exclusively for law alumni.  The following schedule of activities is what one can expect. 

Friday
The weekend kicks off on Friday with a Legal Legacy Luncheon for those classes celebrating 50+ years.  Friday afternoon, the Law Alumni Chapter board holds their spring meeting.  Following the board meeting, the Law School presents its annual Awards Day Ceremony.  Continuing Legal Education is also available for those law alumni who are interested.  Friday evening is when the dinner to recognize classes celebrating reunions takes place.  In 2010, we will feature the classes of 2000, 1985, 1970, 1960 and all years prior.  No matter what year you graduated from Law School, all law alumni are invited to participate in the weekend’s festivities.  Registration packets will be mailed to all law alumni by December, 2009.

Saturday
Saturday morning of Law Weekend begins with the annual Lamar Order breakfast and annual business meeting.  All members of the Lamar Order are invited and encouraged to participate.  Saturday afternoon, a catfish cookout in the Grove is available for all law alumni. 

The 2010 Law Weekend will be different from any of the previous weekends.  The Law Alumni Chapter recently installed a Law Alumni Hall of Fame.  The first class will be inducted at the next Law Weekend, which will be February 26-27, 2010.  The Law Alumni Hall of Fame recipients will be announced in the fall of 2009, and the induction ceremony will take place with a dinner in the ballroom of The Inn at Ole Miss on Saturday, February 27, 2010.  Tickets to this ceremony will be available for purchase by December, 2009.

Our 2009 event, which took place March 27-28, featured reunions for the classes of 1999, 1984, 1969, 1959 and earlier.  Class pictures can be viewed by clicking HERE.
