Forthcoming Issues

The Mississippi Law Journal staff welcomes you to the Mississippi Law Journal.

The first issue of the Journal was published in July 1928, under the leadership of Dean Thomas C. Kimbrough in an agreement with the Mississippi Bar Association. When Dean Kimbrough was installed as the Association's president the following year, a strong relationship between the law school and the bar was cemented and continues today.

The Journal is published four times each year. It is a scholarly publication that runs articles by practitioners, judges, and professors, as well as student-written comments and case notes. Each piece published is selected on the basis of excellence and topical interest.

Additionally, the Journal publishes a weekly Briefing Service, which provides succinct synopses of Mississippi Supreme Court and Mississippi Court of Appeals hand downs, months before the decisions appear in national reporters.
