THE ACADEMIC PROGRAM

International Studies
Cambridge, Hawaii, and more
The School of Law offers students an opportunity to earn up to 6 semester credit hours in its six-week summer sessions held annually in England at Downing College, Cambridge University, and at the University of Hawaii School of Law. All classes are offered for full academic credit and are subject to the same academic standards maintained in the Law School’s domestic program.

Cambridge

The Cambridge summer session is a fully ABA-approved program organized in association with Downing College of Cambridge University and a consortium of law schools including The University of Mississippi School of Law, the University of Arkansas-Fayetteville School of Law, the University of Tennessee School of Law, and the University of Nebraska College of Law. The University of Mississippi School of Law serves as the institutional administrator of the program. The Cambridge session affords students an exciting change of perspective with an emphas on international and comparative law. Faculty members are drawn from both Cambridge University and the consortium law schools.
Students live at Downing College in the heart of Cambridge, where dining and library facilities are convenient. Classes are held Monday through Thursday, permitting students to enrich their experiences through weekend trips to places of interest in Great Britain.

Hawaii

A fully ABA-approved program sponsored by The University of Mississippi School of Law and located at the University of Hawaii’s William S. Richardson School of Law, the Hawaii Summer Session offers a distinguished academic program focusing on the dynamic Pacific Rim and the chance to experience the legendary beauty and rich cultural heritage of the Hawaiian Islands.
The curriculum is an exciting mix of courses in Pacific Asian law and more traditional subjects. Faculty members are drawn from the University of Hawaii, The University of Mississippi, and other nationally recognized law schools. This is the only summer law session offered in Hawaii.

Croft Institute for International Studies
The endowment of the University’s Croft Institute for International Studies has allowed the School of Law to expand opportunities for study of international law. The institute funds, in addition to a number of undergraduate faculty positions, a Croft Professorship in the Law School. This expansion of our international law faculty has enriched the curriculum in both international public law and international business transactions.
